First of all it's portable and that's very important. They can carry it in their car, on their bike or just carry it like a carrying case. A person that does art never knows when inspiration will strike and they need to be ready when it hits. This allows them to be ready to paint that sunset, the duck pond in the park or a person sitting across from them on a long train ride.
It also keeps them from being confined to one room in the house to do their painting in. With this they can paint anywhere. As long as they put something down to keep from making a mess that is.
There is a drawer that has 3 sections that can hold paints, brushes and other tools your creative friend might need. It also holds canvases of up to 11"x 14".
You can't go wrong giving your artistic associate this as a present. Unless they already have one of course. I actually have one of these. Not this one, but one close to it. I like to pull mine out when I'm feeling to lazy to go and sit at my big one.
